According to the Wall Street Journal Microsoft still has an interest in Yahoo search. Having been already spurned by Yahoo, Microsoft appears to be teaming up with Time Warner and Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation. Microsoft has been trying to acquire Yahoo since January, but ended negotiations in May.

Yahoo investor Carl Icahn has been pushing for a deal with Microsoft. On a number of occassions he has publicaly stated that the board of Yahoo failed in their duty to serve shareholder interests by refusing to sell. He is currently manoeuvring to replace the board at an upcoming investor meeting in August.
